Kangaroo Island is full of amazing things to eat, drink, visit and experience. Here, we’d like to share a few of our favourites with you. Don’t forget to visit the interactive Kangaroo Island Map when planning your visit.

Snelling Beach, Middle river

Just moments from your back door is the stunning Snelling Beach. Pack a picnic, grab your hat and spend the day frolicking amongst the clear blue waters while admiring the rugged North Coast of the Island. Families with small children will also love playing in the sheltered Middle River when the ocean is a little rough.

Cactus Cafe, Kingscote

Come for breakfast, stay for lunch and top it off with a ice cold glass of locally-made beer, wine or gin. Cactus is an institution in Kingscote and for good reason.

EMU BAY LAVENDER FARM, EMU BAY

The food at Emu Bay Lavender Farm is almost too pretty to eat, but it’s also too good not to. Don’t forget to check out the locally made goodies available to purchase too.

The Rockpool Cafe, Stokes Bay

The perfect spot for fish and chips, with delicious coffee too, The Rockpool Café is at beautiful Stokes Bay and is a great place for the family to grab a bite. Open from Father’s Day to Mother’s Day each year.

Vivonne Bay General Store, Vivonne Bay

The Vivonne Bay General Store is home to the famous Vivonne Bay Whiting Burger. It’s a perfect pitstop after a morning spent sandboarding at Little Sahara or visiting Seal Bay, with fuel and a selection of grocery items also available.

CYGNET RIVER GOURMET TRAIL

Sip and snack your way through Cygnet River’s Gourmet Trail visiting the likes of The Islander Estate, Kangaroo Island Spirits, Springs Road Wines and Frogs & Roses Garden Centre & Cafe.

DUDLEY WINES, PENNESHAW

Another contender for ‘best lunch spot with a view’, Dudley Wines is more than just a cellar door. Order yourself a platter, kick up your feet, and drink in the view.

False Cape Wines, PENNESHAW

With a brand new cellar door which boasts a nature playground, sprawling lawn and yummy wine and nibbles, False Cape is a great addition to the Island’s growing list of wineries.

Flinders Chase National Park

Despite 96 percent of the park being burnt in the 2019-20 bushfires, it is now open to visitors. Share in the bushfire recovery journey and visit the iconic Remarkable Rocks, Weirs Cove, Cape du Couedic lighthouse and Admirals Arch.

Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, PARNDANA

Keen to cuddle a koala? Fancy feeding a penguin? Why not wave to wombat too? Do it all at the KI Wildlife Park. Book one of the many exclusive experiences or just meander around the park at your own pace.

Seal Bay

Get up close and personal with the Island’s resident Sea lion colony at Seal Bay. Stroll along the boardwalk as the seals and their cubs cosy up underneath. We recommend signing up for a guided twilight tour during summer to get an even more special experience.

LITTLE SAHARA AND KI OUTDOOR ACTION

Experience the thrills and spills of sandboarding at Little Sahara, or up the ante and tour the dunes on a Quad Bike.
